Loading, Transport & Unloading

Moving a lifetime of belongings is hard on the back, so let us do the heavy lifting. Our specialists carefully load, transport, and unload everything from your old place to your new one. We can also drop items at a second stop along the way, whether that is a family member's home or a donation site.

Downsizing & Donation

Moving into a smaller space usually means parting with some things. Because we know the senior living communities across the area, we can help you decide what will fit, then donate the larger items and surplus to local charities. If you need the whole house cleared out afterward, we can refer you to services that handle that.

What We Handle For You

You pack the boxes, and we take care of the rest. We bring our own wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes and rehang them at the new place, take apart your bed and set it back up, and position your furniture where you want it. Clothing can even stay in your dressers, since we shrink wrap items with drawers so nothing opens or shifts.

We help seniors move throughout Wisconsin from our home base in Appleton. We service Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Neenah, De Pere, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, Menasha, Brillion, Chilton, Greenville, Hortonville, Freedom, Waupaca, New London, and the surrounding communities. One leg of your move must be to or from the Fox Valley or Green Bay area.

What to Have Ready on Move Day

The moves that go smoothly have one thing in common: everything is packed and ready before we arrive. You handle the packing, and here is exactly what that means so nothing slows down your day.

Pack small items in boxes or totes

Small items need to be in boxes or lidded totes, taped or closed shut, top and bottom. We cannot safely move loose items, and sealed boxes are what let us stack everything securely in the truck so nothing shifts on the road.

Clear off and empty large furniture

Dressers, tables, and other large pieces should be cleared of anything sitting on top or inside. Your hanging clothes can stay on their hangers and your folded clothes can stay in dresser drawers. We bring wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes and shrink wrap items with drawers so nothing opens or shifts.

Label where each item is going

Use blue or green painter's tape to label all boxes and furniture so we know where they need to end up: donation, disposal, or what room in your new place. A quick label on each piece keeps everything headed in the right direction without slowing down to ask. Painter's tape is furniture friendly. Please avoid using post-it notes since these get lost quickly.

A few things you can leave to us

You do not need to pack lamps or picture frames larger than 16 by 20 inches. And if packing feels like too much to take on, we can put you in touch with local resources who pack for you.

How far in advance should I book my move?
For a planned move, we suggest reaching out four to six weeks ahead, especially if you will need help packing. That said, we work with seniors every day and we know health situations can change fast, so we try to leave room in our schedule for short-notice moves. If you need to move soon, call us and we will see what we can do.
How much does a senior move cost?
Every move is priced individually, because the cost depends on how much you are moving, how ready everything is, the distance, stairs, and how easy the in-and-out is at each location. Call us for a free estimate, or a price range over the phone based on your situation. Serving the senior community is what we do, so our rates are fair.
Do I need to pack my own boxes?
Yes, packing the boxes is the one part we ask you to handle, and having it done before we arrive is what keeps move day running smoothly. If packing is too much to take on, we can connect you with local resources who pack for you. You do not need to pack lamps or picture frames larger than 16 by 20 inches.
Are there items you cannot move?
A few. For safety and licensing reasons, we do not move firearms, gas, hot tubs, pool tables, gazebos, or sheds, and certain Sleep Number and hospital beds we are unable to take. Pianos we move only when they are on the ground level. If you are not sure about a specific item, just ask when you call.
How do you take payment?
We accept personal checks and money orders. We do not take credit cards at this time. For families arranging a move from out of town, we are glad to mail an invoice for payment.
Can my kids arrange the move if I live out of town?
Absolutely. We work with adult children all the time who are setting up a move for a parent from another city or state. We keep you informed at every step and can mail the invoice wherever works best.
Do you handle moves outside the Fox Valley?
Yes, within Wisconsin. We are fully licensed and insured throughout the state, and we handle longer moves as long as one leg is to or from the Fox Valley or Green Bay area. We do not take moves across state lines.
Do you move on weekends?
We schedule moves Monday through Friday. Most senior living facilities only take admissions on weekdays, and keeping to a weekday schedule helps us give our team a healthy work-life balance. If timing is tight, call us and we will find the best day for your move.
